Sydney Web Standards Group meeting – Thursday 2 August

We have another exciting event coming up in August with two amazing speakers – Christy Dena and Scott Parsons.

Presentation 1:

Thinking Outside the Web: How the Entertainment Industry is Integrating All Media and Why

Speaker 1: Christy Dena

Christy is a Universe Creator & Transmodiologist. She is an industry strategist, mentor, designer and PhD researcher of cross-media entertainment. She has provided advice and presentations on multi-platform stories, games & marketing to the Nokia Headquarters, Australia Council for the Arts, Film Australia, Center for Screen Business, AFTRS, ABC, dLux Media Arts and the ACT Filmmakers Network. She co-wrote the International Game Developers Association Alternate Reality Game Whitepaper. She is part of the Sense Worldwide Network, a company that provides contextual research and concept development services to Blue Chip and Fortune 500 clients. She recently gave a keynote at the First International Conference on Cross-Media Interaction Design in Sweden. Currently Christy runs www.Cross-MediaEntertainment.com and co-edits www.WriterResponseTheory.org.

Presentation 2:

Ambient Personalization: Applying what we can learn about a user's (and groups of users) behaviour, to improving their, and by extension everyone's, experience of a site.

Speaker 2: Scott Parsons

Scott Parsons is an experienced user experience and web design professional who has worked in NZ, UK and Australia for many media and advertising companies. He specialises in usability and user centered design, while keeping up with future trends and web design techniques.
